John Lewis vs. Donald Trump

Last week, Congressman John Lewis said that Mr. Trump was not a legit president and then the president elect countered by tweeting: “All talk, talk, talk – no action or results. Sad!” This has rallied many African-American leaders. This incident has propelled many members of Congress to skip this week’s inauguration and instead meet with activists. Mr. Trump was already persona non grata to the black community but this latest tweet jab did him no favors when only 8 percent of blacks voted for him. This tweet along with Mr. Jeff Sessions as his attorney general and Mr. Stephen Bannon, head of Breitbart, as his chief strategist is setting in motion a racial clash for the next 4 years. This is the same administration that has the least number of women & nonwhites in cabinet positions since Reagan. Lewis has been arrested at least 45 times: 40 times during the civil rights movement of the 1960s and several times as a Congressman.
