Attack In Yemen Creates Casualties On Both Sides

The US military said it killed 14 militants in a raid against an al-Qaeda branch in southern Yemen on Sunday, marking the first military operation authorized by President Trump. However, medics at the scene believe the death toll is closer to 30 people, including 10 women and children. An American commando also died while carrying out the raid and three other US servicemen were injured. President Trump called the operation a success, but given that there were American and civilian casualties, you could say that reviews are mixed. Reuters reported that an eight-year-old girl was among the children killed in the raid. “She was hit with a bullet in her neck and suffered for two hours,” her grandfather told Reuters. “Why kill children? This is the new (US) administration – it’s very sad, a big crime.”
