Russia The Latest Country To Ditch The ICC
Following in the footsteps of Gambia, South Africa and Burundi, Russia now wants to pull out of the International Criminal Court because the court published an unflattering report about the country. President Vladimir Putin issued a decree for Russia to withdraw from the statute of the ICC, just one day after the court classified Russia’s annexation of Crimea as an occupation. Although the withdrawal is mostly a symbolic gesture, it reflects just how unwilling Putin is to cooperate with anyone besides Donald Trump.
