Russian Official Tells Violent Fans, ‘Well Done Lads, Keep It Up!’

France, UEFA and fans worldwide are growing frightened by the level of violence among English and Russian soccer fans in France. Well, everyone but Russia, of course. Top Russian football official Igor Lebedev praised the Russian fans involved in violence over the weekend in Marseille, saying that they had “defended their country’s honor.”  While UEFA threatens to suspend the country from playing if their soccer hooligan fans don’t behave, Lebedev told the aggressors “well done lads, keep it up!” He went on to give a less-than-accurate statistic that “in nine out of 10 cases, football fans go to games to fight, and that’s normal.” Normal to Russia, maybe.
